Morning,

Today, I want to tell you a little story about how normal people and artificial intelligence met.

It all started 76 years ago.

In 1950, a British mathematician named Alan Turing asked a pretty unusual question.

Can machines think?

He imagined an experiment.

What if you could have a conversation with a computer without knowing it was a computer?

And what if you couldn't tell the difference?

He called it the “Imitation Game”.

For decades, artificial intelligence was something only known by researchers and academics.

Until November 2022.

A company called OpenAI released a chatbot called ChatGPT.

It was an instant hit. People started using and kept using it at the rate that we’ve never seen before.

A big part of its success was the simple, conversational interface.

You could simply talk to it.

No technical knowledge. No complicated software. No elaborate signup process.

Just type a question and get an answer.

People loved it.

Facebook took roughly four and a half years to reach 100 million users.

ChatGPT reached that milestone in just two months.

With this little chatbot, OpenAI moved AI from research labs to the kitchen table.

And it started changing everything.

Over the coming weeks, I'll share much more about AI and the opportunities it creates.

But not all at once.

We'll take it one step at a time.

One insight a day.
One minute to read.
One step ahead.

I'm glad you're here.

Talk soon,

Deaisy
